Choosing a tennis racquet that suits your needs is of course very important. Our guide on picking a tennis racquet can be found here. Modern tennis racquets can vary in length, weight, and head size. The length for junior racquets is usually 21" to 26", while 27" or 27.5" are for stronger and taller adult players. Weights of a racquet can vary, and it is somewhere between 9 ounces unstrung and 12.5 ounces unstrung. The next real important factor of a racquet is the head size. A rule of thumb is that a larger head size generally means more power, and also a larger "sweet spot" that is more forgiving on off-center hits. Then smaller head size offers more precise control. Head sizes of recent racquets vary between 85 sq. inches and 137 sq. inches.
